Ataxia Awareness Month
As some of you know International Ataxia Awareness day is 25th September- but why not spread this occasion over the entire month?
Ataxia and Me has a lot of exciting things coming up over the month, and we thought this weeks blog post would be the perfect time to catch everybody up with whats new!
Firstly, I would like to highlight the addition of the Awareness Gallery on the website. As part of our project we want to use the power of social media and get as many people as possible to take a 'selfie' with our 'I'm Ataxia Aware' postcard. This postcard can be downloaded and printed from the Resource Materials page. We then encourage you to post the image on social media using the hashtag #ataxiaaware for a chance to be featured alongside many others in the gallery.
Our founder, Alan has also been hard at work creating the #AtaxiaAdvent. The Ataxia advent shares a fact a day about the rare condition. Be sure to keep all eyes on our social media (linked at the end of the post) to be apart of this awesome campaign!
I also want to take this opportunity to invite you to take part in our awareness campaign by getting involved in writing a blog post to feature on our website. We want to showcase personal experiences of suffering with Ataxia, whether yourself or someone you care for. The blog post can be anonymous or otherwise and examples of what other people have shared can be found on the blog section of the website. We have a downloadable template on our resource materials page to help you get started.
Thank you in advance for all your support.
